Fairy Fun
April 9, 2023Walking School Bus and Castle Walks.
During weekday mornings during the school year the Walking School Bus passes over the entrance of the castle lower driveway around 7:20-30am. It takes about 5 minutes for all the cute kids, teachers, parents and pets to pass by. About 4 minutes later the parents some with strollers and pets head back up the hill.
On Friday mornings the Walking School Bus takes a bit of a different route for the weekly Castle Walk. The Walking School Bus travels down the upper driveway passing the Gate House, Boom Castle and Queen Sally, over the ornate footbridge to see what is in the Mosher Tower window and over to Sheldon Castle for surprises there. They then continue walking through the Sheldon Castle yard and if they spy the hidden Unicorn you hear them yell Peek-A-Boo which is its name. On their way out of the back driveway on some dates the students, families and pets stop to see the latest Fairy Scene created by our Lady Paris. This all takes about 10 minutes around 7:25-7:35am. The Castle Walk Cast often doubles on many holidays. This is can be extra fun for our AirBnB guests. Many times they become part of the Castle Walk cast.
Holiday Castle Walk
On your first morning we will be holding our Halloween Castle Walk for the Walking School Bus. We shire folk will be dressed in Halloween and castle style costumes and some simple holiday decorations will be on the grounds. The kids, adults and pets begin at the front drive and Gate House. The kids stop to see the latest Fairy Scene there and walk down the drive passed Boom Castle and Queen Sally, over the ornate footbridge to see what is in the Mosher yard or Tower window and over to Sheldon Castle for surprises there. They then continue walking through the yard right past the suite. If they spy the hidden Unicorn you will hear them yell Peek-A- Boo which is its name. This all takes about 10 minutes around 7:25-7:35am. Many of our guests enjoy sitting in the bay window and watching the fun parade but you are more than welcome to wave at them from the yard or the bridge as well. It is a happy time.
